What is Microblading?

Most women would agree that eyebrow shape, colour and definition are an important part of their daily grooming routine. Setting aside fashion for a moment, eyebrows can speak volumes by their style and size and are a vital feature that frames your appearance.

Due to their central position, they have the power to change your appearance drastically. If you then consider the ever-changing trend of brow fashion, it's easy to understand why the topic has become the centre of attention.

Microblading is a safe and effective treatment designed to enhance and define your brows to your preferred custom size and style

The procedure involves the application of a semi-permanent colour to the skin's upper surface using a fine sterile blade. Each eyebrow will be intricately created with delicate precision hair strokes to produce the perfect shape, density and colour. Depending on your requirements, the treatment can take between 2-4 hours to complete.

Frequently Asked

Does microblading hurt?

Some clients feel slight discomfort during and after the treatment, however pain thresholds vary hugely between individuals. Should you have concerns regarding your sensitivity, please discuss pain relief during your initial consultation.

How will my eyebrows react to the treatment?

This will vary; however, a certain amount of discomfort may be experienced immediately following your treatment. The colour of your eyebrows may also appear slightly darker than expected for the first few days, however this will settle during the healing process.

How long does the healing process take?

Healing can take up to two weeks. During this period, it is normal to experience peeling, scabbing and patchiness, however by week three, healing should have completed, and your brows should appear more natural.

What aftercare is necessary?

As with any wound, hygiene is especially important. Wash your hands frequently, and clean the brow areas gently as required, however ensure the area is dried thoroughly and open to the air. Try to avoid from repetitively touching the area during healing. During the first seven days following treatment, avoid activities that are likely to cause excessive sweating and stay out of the sun. Avoid sunbeds, extreme heat and excess sweating for at least seven days following your procedure. Light exercise is okay, but ensure perspiration is cleansed from your eyebrows immediately after. Avoid using all cosmetic products on your brows, other than those advised by your therapist.

After healing is completed, should I avoid eyebrow waxing?

Any treatment that exfoliates the area will lead to faster pigment fading, this is due to accelerated skin cell renewal. Tweezing or threading is the recommended treatment to remove stray hair and maintain shape

How long will semi-permanent pigment last for?

Due to the high-quality ingredients contained within the pigments that we use; we would expect your brows to last for between 12 and 36 months. Whilst the shade will gradually fade, we would expect the colour to remain stable throughout, this however may vary from person to person.

Why does my pigment seem to be fading quickly?

Numerous factors affect the pigment over time. The two main causes for premature fading are unprotected exposure to sunlight and high levels of uric acid in sweat. Other factors such as cell renewal rates, general health and lifestyle all have an effect. However, to prevent the premature fading we recommend the use of a good quality SPF 30 for your eyebrows and to maintain a healthy diet.

Are follow-up visits include in the price?

Your first follow up visit is required within 6 to 8 weeks of treatment and is included within the price. During this consultation, we shall check that you have healed properly and address any concerns that you may have. If possible, we will fill in and perfect any areas that require attention. For further consultations, please discuss with your therapist.

Is it safe for all skin types?

Generally speaking, most people are suited to the procedure, however certain conditions may prevent your immediate treatment. These are: Prior skin damage such as scarring, sunburn, dermatitis or similar conditions. Diabetes, high blood pressure, autoimmune disease, thyroid or graves disease and certain allergies.
