Liposomes (The Delivery Molecule)

All of our new Mesotherapy product range uses Liposomes as the delivery molecule, below is an explanation of how this procedure works.
The name Liposome is derived from two Greek words: 'Lipos' meaning fat and 'Soma' meaning body. A Liposome can be formed in a variety of sizes, and its name relates to its structural building blocks, phospholipids, and not to its size.

A Liposome is a tiny bubble (Vesicle) that is much smaller than the average molecule and it's made out of the same material as a cell membrane.

Liposomes can be filled with various drugs/active ingredients, and used to deliver the solution to the cell. As the Liposome is made up of the same material as the cell membrane it will not be rejected, in fact the lipid bilayer can fuse with other bilayers such as the cell membrane, thus delivering the Liposome contents E.G Active ingredients.

Liposomes are used as a delivery mechanism due to their unique properties. A Liposome encapsulates a solution inside the hydrophobic membrane so that is can deliver the molecules to the required site.
